What is a proxy? How can I use a proxy to bypass a censor?
A proxy can be seen as a good friend who relays communications from you to other people.
In computer networks a proxy is a computer which relays connections to an otherwise
inaccessible website.
If a personal computer is configured to use a proxy, the proxy will connect to
websites for the user. The user's view of the internet is replaced by the view of the
proxy, since the proxy will relay all traffic to and from the websites on behalf of the user.
As connections to proxies can be blocked by censors, it is vital to know as much
about proxies as possible and switch between them as necessary. Lists of proxies
can be found via Yahoo, Cuil, or google. Just search for "proxy" or "free proxy".
In order to make it difficult for the censors, we won't provide a list of free proxies,
since the list would be used to block all the proxies listed.
